How We Verify Wendy's Breakfast Hours
Every breakfast time on this site is read from the individual store page Wendy's publishes at locations.wendys.com, for all 5,635 US and 460 Canadian restaurants, and re-read on a schedule. We do not publish a "typical" schedule and call it verified. When a page says 96.9% of stores stop at 10:30, that is a count of store pages that say 10:30, taken on the date in the caption.
The source
Wendy's operates one public listing per restaurant on locations.wendys.com (run on the Yext platform). Each listing carries two machine-readable schedules: restaurant hours and, where the store serves breakfast, a seven-day breakfast schedule embedded as openingHours microdata on the store's breakfast-menu page. Those fields are maintained by the franchisee or corporate, feed the Wendy's app and Google Business Profile, and are the same numbers you'd see on the store's own page. We read the microdata, not the display text, because the visible "Breakfast ends at" line on some pages is wrong (it shows the opening time).
The census, step by step
- Pull every store URL from the locator's two XML sitemaps (US: 5,635 store pages; Canada: 460). French-Canadian duplicates and legacy
.html-NNNNURLs are removed. - For each store that has a breakfast-menu page (4,416 in the US), fetch it and parse the fourteen
openingHoursentries — seven for the restaurant, seven for breakfast. - A store "serves breakfast" if at least one day has a breakfast interval. 4,236 US stores serve all seven days; 63 serve some days; 117 have a breakfast page with no live schedule (counted as not serving).
- A store "does not serve breakfast" if it has no breakfast page or no live breakfast schedule — 1,512 US stores on 2026-09-19. For those we record the restaurant's opening time (84% open at 10:00, 12% at 9:00).
- Aggregate by day, state, province, metro and store type. Modes and shares in our tables are computed over stores with a complete schedule (4,260 US stores for weekday-versus-weekend comparisons).
- Publish the date in every table caption and keep the raw CSV downloadable.
The whole run takes about two minutes and is scripted so it can be repeated identically; the script and prior snapshots are kept so month-to-month changes (a franchisee dropping breakfast, a new 11:00 weekend cutoff) can be listed on the news log.
What this method cannot see
- Holiday hours. The locator shows a "Holiday Hours May Vary" flag but rarely the actual holiday schedule. Our holiday pages say so and give the store-level check instead.
- Same-day changes. A store that closes early for staffing today won't show it. The listed hours are the operator's standing schedule.
- Product run-outs. A store can be out of biscuits at 10:10; no data source captures that.
- Puerto Rico. Wendy's PR stores aren't on the US locator; the international page uses the PR franchisee's listings.
- Store-level accuracy errors by the operator. If a franchisee never updated the listing after dropping breakfast, the listing (and the app) are wrong together. When a reader reports one, we check the store page, the app and Google, and annotate the store in the next release.

Third-party numbers we don't use
Several sites publish "Wendy's breakfast hours" with a seven-day table of 6:30–10:30 and no source. We don't copy those, and we specifically don't repeat claims we couldn't verify: that "99% of stores" serve breakfast, that all stores extend to 11:00 on weekends (208 do), or that the app stops taking breakfast orders at exactly 10:15 (it is roughly 15 minutes before each store's own cutoff).
Report an error
If a store's hours on this site don't match what you experienced, use the contact page with the store address and the date. Reports that turn out to be operator-listing errors are annotated; reports that reveal a parsing mistake on our side are corrected within a day and noted on the news log.
