Wendy's Breakfast Hours

Wendy's Holiday Breakfast Hours (2026–2027)

Updated 2026-09-19 · Holiday-morning checks scheduled for each date below · Method

Wendy's has no chain-wide holiday schedule; each franchisee sets its own holiday hours, and breakfast is the daypart most often lost. The mechanism is simple: breakfast runs from the store's opening time until 10:30 AM. On a holiday when a store opens at 10:00 or 11:00 instead of 6:30, there is no breakfast that day at all — the store opens straight into lunch. So the holiday question is never "what are Wendy's holiday breakfast hours" but "what time does my store open that day." Christmas Day and Thanksgiving see the most late openings and closures; Easter Sunday, New Year's Day and July 4 mostly follow normal (or normal-Sunday) hours; Veterans Day is a normal day with a free breakfast combo for veterans.

Holiday Date Typical store status Breakfast served?
Veterans Day Wed Nov 11, 2026 Open, normal hours Yes, normal hours + free combo for veterans (2023–25 pattern)
Thanksgiving Thu Nov 26, 2026 Mixed: many open with reduced hours, many open at 10:30 or later, some closed Only at stores that open before 10:30 — typically highway/24-hour units
Christmas Eve Thu Dec 24, 2026 Open; most close early (afternoon/evening) Yes at most breakfast stores — the morning is unaffected
Christmas Day Fri Dec 25, 2026 Most closures of any day; open stores usually open late Rare — only 24-hour and some travel-corridor stores
New Year's Eve Thu Dec 31, 2026 Open, normal morning Yes, normal hours
New Year's Day Fri Jan 1, 2027 Open; some later openings after late NYE close Yes at most; a store that opens at 9:00 gives you 90 minutes
MLK Day / Presidents Day Jan 18 / Feb 15, 2027 Normal Yes, normal
Easter Sunday Sun Apr 4, 2027 Open at most; some franchise closures Yes where open — normal Sunday start (later at 18% of stores)
Memorial Day / July 4 / Labor Day May 31 / Jul 4 / Sep 6, 2027 Normal or slightly reduced evening Yes, normal morning hours

The rule that answers every holiday question

If the store opens before 10:30 AM, it serves breakfast until 10:30. If it opens at 10:30 or later, it doesn't. This is how Wendy's breakfast works every day of the year (breakfast start = opening time at 99.6% of stores), and holidays don't change it. A store that posts "Thanksgiving: 11 AM–8 PM" is a lunch-only store that day. A store that posts "Christmas Eve: 6:30 AM–6 PM" has normal breakfast and an early close. Twenty-four-hour stores, which never close, keep their usual 4:00–5:00 AM breakfast start on holidays unless the operator specifically shuts the store — which is why the 156 24-hour Wendy's are the most reliable holiday breakfast option.

The second rule: holiday hours are set store by store, and the official store page is the only source that reflects them. Wendy's corporate does not publish a holiday schedule. Its December 2025 statement — "many Wendy's locations will be open and ready to serve" on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, hours vary by location — is as specific as the company gets. Operators enter special hours into the same system that feeds locations.wendys.com and Google; those show up as a dated "holiday hours" line on the store page and as "Hours might differ" on Google Maps.

How to check your store on a holiday morning

  1. Google the store name (e.g., "Wendy's Main St Rochester") and look for a "Holiday hours" or "Hours might differ" line under the hours. If the opening time shown is before 10:30, breakfast is on.
  2. Open the store on locations.wendys.com — special hours are listed by date above the regular table.
  3. Open the Wendy's app before you leave. If the Breakfast menu category is present for your selected store, the kitchen is in breakfast mode; if the app says "Opens at 11:00 AM," there's no breakfast today.
  4. When in doubt, drive-thru. On holidays, lobbies are the first thing operators close; drive-thrus stay open on skeleton crews.

We publish a same-morning check for each major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter) covering how many store pages show modified hours and where breakfast is running — see the individual pages.

Which holidays actually affect breakfast

Two holidays matter a lot, one a little, and the rest not at all.

  • Christmas Day — the largest share of closures and late openings in the year. Where stores open, the common pattern is a late-morning or midday opening, which skips breakfast. Expect breakfast only at 24-hour units, airports and interstate travel plazas. Details
  • Thanksgiving — most stores open, but reduced hours are the norm and 10:30–11:00 openings are common, again eliminating breakfast. Travel-corridor stores are the exception because Thanksgiving morning is heavy driving time. Details
  • Easter Sunday — a minority of franchise groups close (it is the third most common closure day). Open stores follow their regular Sunday schedule, which already starts later at 18% of stores. Details
  • Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, July 4 — the changes are at the end of the day (early closes), not the morning. Breakfast is normal. Christmas Eve
  • New Year's Day — the only "day-after" effect: stores that stayed open to 2:00–4:00 AM may open an hour or two late, shortening breakfast. Details
  • Veterans Day — normal hours; Wendy's has offered veterans a free breakfast combo during breakfast hours each year since 2023. Details and 2026 status
  • Memorial Day, Labor Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Halloween — no meaningful pattern of morning changes; breakfast runs as on any weekday.

Do holiday breakfast deals exist?

Only one recurring holiday-specific breakfast offer: the Veterans Day free Breakfast Combo (sandwich, Seasoned Potatoes and drink) for veterans and active-duty members, redeemed in-restaurant or drive-thru during breakfast hours. Everyday breakfast value — the 2 for $3 Breakfast Biggie Bundle, app offers — runs on holidays as it does on any other day, subject to the store being open before 10:30. Christmas and Thanksgiving do not have breakfast promotions; December's national promotions are typically lunch/dinner items. Current offers: Breakfast prices and deals.

Frequently asked questions

Does Wendy's serve breakfast on holidays?

Yes, wherever the store opens before 10:30 AM. Most holidays (Veterans Day, MLK, Presidents, Memorial, July 4, Labor Day, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) have normal morning hours. Thanksgiving and Christmas Day are the exceptions: many stores open late or close, which removes breakfast for that day.

Is Wendy's breakfast open on Christmas?

At a minority of stores. Christmas Day is the day with the most closures, and stores that do open typically open at midday. Twenty-four-hour and travel-corridor stores are the best bet.

Are Wendy's breakfast hours different on Thanksgiving?

The end (10:30) doesn't move, but many stores open at 10:30 or later on Thanksgiving, which means no breakfast. Check the store's posted opening time that morning.

Does the Wendy's app show holiday hours?

Yes — the app uses the store's live hours. If the breakfast category is missing before 10:30 or the store shows a late opening, the operator has set holiday hours.
